Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) officials have sealed the Karwan Bazar kitchen market after a drive.

The DNCC team started the operation around 11:30am on Thursday and disconnected power, gas and water supply lines of 176 shops.

Mutakabbir Ahmed, executive officer of zone-5 under DNCC, led the drive.

Traders gathered shouting protests soon after the DNCC team arrived at the market.

Traders were given several notices in this regard. They were given two weeks' time to evacuate the risky market, DNCC officials said.
