7 Bangladeshi diplomats asked to return

The government has ordered Bangladesh Ambassadors to the United States (US), Russia, Germany, Japan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the high commissioner to the Maldives to return home leaving their current responsibilities from the respective missions abroad.

The foreign ministry has issued separate transfer orders in this regard.Mohammad Imran has been serving as Ambassador of Bangladesh to the United States of America since September, 2022.
Ambassador Kamrul Ahsan joined the Bangladesh Embassy in Moscow on January 5, 2020. Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary has been serving as the ambassador of Bangladesh to the KSA since August, 2020.
Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan joined the Embassy of Bangladesh in Berlin on October 2, 2020, as Ambassador with concurrent accreditation to the Czech Republic, Kosovo and International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), reports BSS.
Shahabuddin Ahmed is serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan while Mohammed Abu Zafar is the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the UAE.
Rear Admiral S M Abul Kalam Azad is serving as Bangladesh High Commissioner to the Maldives.
