Nationwide ‘strict lockdown’ from Monday for 7 days

The government is set to enforce a nationwide ‘strict lockdown’ for 7 days from Monday morning.



Dhaka, June 25 : The government is set to enforce a nationwide ‘strict lockdown’ for 7 days from Monday morning as part of its tougher move to slow down the rapid spike in both coronavirus infection and mortality rates amid the growing threat posed by the Indian delta variant.
Principal information officer (PIO) Suroth Kumar Sarker disclosed the information on Friday.
He said all government and private offices will remain closed during the period.
Also, there will be stricter  restrictions on public movement across the country . No vehicle will be allowed to ply roads during the lockdown.
However, emergency service vehicles will remain out of the purview of the restrictions as usual, Sarker said, reports UNB.
