Md Mofidur Rahman has been promoted to the position of Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, following a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on April 10, 2025. Prior to this promotion, he served as the Additional Secretary of the same ministry.

This promotion marks a significant step in Rahman’s career within the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, where he has demonstrated consistent dedication and leadership. As Additional Secretary, Rahman was involved in several key initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting the country's cultural heritage, as well as overseeing important projects in the arts and cultural sector.

In his new role as Secretary, Rahman will be responsible for overseeing the broader scope of the ministry’s operations, including cultural policy formulation, development projects, and international cultural relations. His appointment is expected to bring renewed energy to the ministry's ongoing efforts to support and promote Bangladesh’s rich cultural history on both national and international platforms.

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs plays a vital role in fostering the country's cultural identity, organizing various cultural events, and collaborating with local and international partners to enhance cultural exchange. Rahman’s vast experience in the ministry positions him well to lead these initiatives.

Rahman’s promotion comes at a time when the country is placing increased emphasis on its cultural development as part of national growth. His leadership is seen as key in ensuring that the ministry continues to uphold its mission to preserve and promote Bangladesh's cultural assets for future generations.
