1500 farmers get free seeds and fertilizer in Kalapara

Patuakhali: 1500 farmers got free seeds, chemical fertilizers and 700 farmers got coconut seedlings in Kalapara of Patuakhali. Upazila Parishad Chairman SM Rakibul Ahsan

inaugurated the government incentive distribution program among the local farmers at Upazila Parishad compound at 10 am on Friday by the initiative of the Directorate of Agricultural Extension.

Kalapara UNO Md. Jahangir Hossain presided over the event, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Md. Shafiqul Alam Babul, Shahina Parveen Sema, Kalapara Press Club President Md. Humayun Kabir etc were also present in the function as special guests. The beneficiary farmers were present and expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the

government of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Kalapara Agriculture Officer ARM Saifullah said, under the promotion program in the financial year 2022-23, with the aim of increasing the production of Kharip-2/2023-24 seasonal Aman rice crops, 5 kg seeds of BR-23, Viridhan 49, 52, 75, 87, 93 species, 10 kg DAP and 10 kg MOP chemical fertilizers were distributed among 1500 farmers and 5 coconut seedlings were distributed to 700 farmers. The government has been giving agricultural incentives to farmers to become self-sufficient in agriculture and to increase food production.
