After listening to his songs, I dreamed of becoming a singer. Presley says, Life is a song, sing it. A good song never gets old: A.K JILANI

A.K Jilani's romantic numbers have made him a hit among the younger generation while he is also popular as a Model. Given below is an interview with him.

Who is your inspiration?

Jilani: I grew up in a culturally rich family; I was always surrounded by music. Our abode was like a cultural hub for me. My entire childhood was surrounded with memories of my mother devotedly practising her music throughout the day. I was raised with a colossal influence of the arts upon me. It was only natural for me to embrace my surrounding and enter the arena of arts and culture. My biggest inspiration is my family.

You receive much adulation from your fans. What is that like?

Jilani: People's love is like divine grace for me. I see it positively and enjoy it at the same time.

How do you stay connected with them?

Jilani: I operate my Facebook page myself. Like, right now I am browsing it as we speak. I love managing my fan page; it helps me build up a connection with my audiences directly.

What's the motivation behind directing your own music videos?

Jilani: During my childhood, photography was a hobby, which helps me to lead direction these days. I love directing my own music video because there is a story in the video what others may not treat the way I would.

What are the first three items on your bucket list?

Jilani: I would like to keep creating music for as long as I live. I want to do something that people will remember me for, be it for my country or for the music industry. Lastly, I would like to build a school.

Do you believe in astrology?

Jilani: I'm a firm believer. About 80 percent of the time, it works for me.

What is your hobby?

Jilani: I was a bookworm and loved reading books. One of my most favourite writers is Rabindranath Tagore. I also enjoyed the works of Nazrul and Shirshendu. These days I do not have any specific leisure activity. I always dive deep into the realms of music and spend most of my time singing and playing the guitar.

Have you started any new project this New Year

Jilani: I will work on “AKJ Mix Char”, featuring some different songs. I will be very busy with this, as I am also doing a talent hunt for it.

Your favourite vacation destinations in the world?

Jilani: Tennessee, usa. Elvis Presley's home there. I grew up listening to Elvis Presley. After listening to his songs, I dreamed of becoming an singer.

What was your childhood dream?

Jilani: I dreamt of becoming a Actor.

What do you do when you are in bad mood?

Jilani: I leave for long drive; sometimes I sing to centre myself.

How do you look at the future?

Jilani: I am very hopeful about the future. But, I feel despair when I see a person getting everything without completely mastering the arts and even society starts giving them too much value and appreciation. Ultimately they lose their identity as an artist. In this era of modernisation, I want everyone to be true to their roots and never forget their culture. I want the music industry to never derail from its track. I want the new artists to embrace music with open arms. They must also work with commitment, humility and honesty.
