An exhibit at the group exhibition Timber Tales which will open at Alliance Francaise, Dhaka on Tuesday.

Alliance Française de Dhaka cordially invites you to the opening of the group exhibition titled "TIMBER TALES".

The exhibition will be inaugurated on 17th June 2025, at 06:00 PM at La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka, Dhanmondi.

Eminent artist Monirul Islam will grace the occasion as the chief guest.

This exhibition brings together three young artists—Abu Al Naeem, Rakib Alam Shanto, and Shakil Mridha—each with a unique visual language expressed through the medium of woodcut printmaking. The exhibition will feature around 20 artworks, reflecting contemporary themes that explore identity, environment, memory, and social narratives.

Rakib Alam Shanto is known for his bold, large-scale black and white prints that explore form and contrast. Shakil Mridha draws deeply from his rural upbringing, capturing the colors, rhythms, and memories of village life with a sense of warmth and nostalgia. Abu Al Naeem’s practice continues to evolve through his exploration of techniques and perspectives, blending tradition with innovation. All three artists recently completed their BFA and MFA degrees in Printmaking from the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka, where they honed their craft and developed their unique artistic voices.

The exhibition will continue through Wednesday, 25 June 2025, and will remain open to all, from Monday to Saturday between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM. – Press release
