Biman Bangladesh Airlines has sent an engineering team and necessary spare parts to Rome to repair an aircraft that was grounded there due to a technical problem.

The designated aircraft, S2-AJY, is currently listed as an aircraft on ground (AOG) in Rome, Biman said in its latest update on Saturday.

The engineering team and spare parts were sent to Rome on BG305 on August 8 and were scheduled to arrive at 4:50pm UTC, or 6:50pm local time.

If the technical problem is resolved as planned, flight BG306 is expected to depart Rome for Dhaka at 8:00pm UTC, or 10:00pm local time, on August 8.

The flight is scheduled to reach Dhaka at around 10:30am Bangladesh Standard Time on August 9.

Biman said passengers would be regularly updated on the latest flight information.
