Islami Bank holds Clients’ Get-together

Islami Bank held a clients conference in Dhaka on Wednesday.



Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC organized a Clients’ Get-together at the Head Office Complex Corporate Branch on July 22, 2026. Mohammad Zahir Hussain, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and the sole representative of the board of directors of Islami Bank was present in the program as chief guest. 

Md. Altaf Hossain, Managing Director (Acting) and Mahmud Hossain Khan, Executive Vice President of the bank addressed as special guest. Mohammad Kutub Uddin, Executive Vice President & head of Head Office Complex Corporate Branch presided over the program while Abdul Latif, Senior Vice President delivered the welcome speech. Dr. Mawlana Mahmudul Hasan, Muhaddith, Mesbahul Ulum Kamil Madrasha, Md. Mamun Ur Rashid, FACM, Director, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Golam Murshid Bappi, Executive Director, Akij Group, Abul Hossain Apu, Managing Director, Al-Muslim Group addressed on behalf of the customers. Bank's executives, officials, local businesspersons and well-wishers were present on the occasion.

In his speech as the chief guest, Mohammad Zahir Hussain said that the depositors are the true owners of Islami Bank. Bangladesh Bank and the management authority are working tirelessly to protect their interests. As long as Bangladesh exists, Insha’Allah, Islami Bank will also survive with glory. It will not be a bank for any single individual, group or community; it will be a bank for the general people. Assuring the customers, he said that the share capital of Islami Bank is only Tk. 6,500 crore, whereas the customers’ deposits amount to nearly one and three-quarter lakh crore taka. This share ratio is a negligible fraction of the total deposits. He said that full trust and authority have been given to Islamic Bank’s efficient management team, who have been working for 30–35 years. The board’s job is only to provide policies; professionals will run the bank. 

Calling upon customers and depositors to stand by the bank and assist in increasing deposits, he said that there is no scope for Islami Bank to look back anymore. Expressing optimism with firmness, he said that with utmost professionalism, the bank would regain its lost glory and reach new heights within a short period.” – Press release
