New organization named ‘Bankers Voice Bangladesh’ formed

A general meeting was recently held in Motijheel with the objective of forming a non-profit, non-political organisation comprising bank and financial sector officials. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, retired general manager of Janata Bank, conducted the meeting. In the meeting, former executive director of Bangladesh Bank Md. Obaidul Haque was made convener and former MD of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank and retired CEO and MD of SBAC Bank Md. Golam Farukh the member secretary of the organization named ‘Bankers Voice Bangladesh’ that was formed.

The objective of the organization is to attract the attention of the appropriate authorities and bring before people’s attention all kinds of discrimination, irregularities and corruption in the banking and financial sector by various means including seminars, symposiums, roundtable dialogues and submission of memorandums. A press release signed by the convener Md. Obaidul Haque was issued on Wednesday 19 February conveying the news.
