Rubel Aziz made vice chairman of City Bank

Director Rubel Aziz has been made the new vice chairman of City Bank PLC, following a recent meeting of the bank's Board of Directors.


Aziz is a renowned industrialist and entrepreneur with a long track record of contributing to the nation’s socio-economic development through various successful industrial undertakings. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the UK.

Aziz currently serves as the Managing Director of Partex Group. His extensive history with City Bank includes serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors from December 2011 to October 2016. He presently chairs the Board’s Executive Committee of City Bank.

Beyond the banking sector, his leadership roles include serving as Chairman of IDLC Finance Limited, President of Banani Club since 2019, Founding President of Dhaka Boat Club, and Former Chairman of Janata Insurance Co. Ltd.

He is serving two terms as the elected President of the Gulshan Club, a Member of the Trustee Board of IBAIS University, and a Member of the National Committee of the United World College (UWC), reports UNB. 

Aziz takes a keen interest in the digitalization process of City Bank. He also actively participates in discussions with the core team regarding innovation and strengthening the bank’s sustainability practices, according to a press release.
