Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 3,960 Indian mobile phone displays and two bicycles worth about Tk 3.17 crore in a drive along the Bijoynagar border in Brahmanbaria.

A BGB press release said, acting on a tip-off, a patrol team of Alinagar BOP under Sarail Battalion (25 BGB) conducted the operation in the Bhagolpur border area early today.

Sensing the presence of BGB personnel, a group of smugglers fled the scene, leaving behind the contraband items and bicycles.

Later, BGB members recovered 3,960 mobile phone displays concealed inside cartons packed in sacks, reports BSS.

The seized goods are being handed over to Akhaura Customs Office following legal procedures, the BGB release added.
