The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has urged people not to pay attention to rumors about Saint Martin's Island circulating on social media.

The armed forces' agency made this request on Sunday while explaining the current situation in the Bangladesh-Myanmar maritime boundary adjacent to Saint Martin's Island.
In a media statement signed by ISPR Assistant Director Saida Tapasi Rabeya Lopa, it was said that due to the ongoing internal conflict in Myanmar near Saint Martin's, various interested parties are spreading rumours about the security of the island on social media.
The ISPR urged everyone not to be misled by such rumours.
The statement also mentioned that the ongoing internal conflict in Myanmar has led to the Myanmar military conducting joint operations against the Arakan Army in Rakhine State.
Due to this conflict between the Myanmar military and the Arakan Army, there have been incidents of unintentional gunfire on Bangladeshi boats in the Naf River and its adjacent estuary area.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh expressed deep concern and protested on June 12.
Following this, the Myanmar Navy has positioned itself in Myanmar's territorial waters near Saint Martin's Island and in the Myanmar side of the Naf River, firing towards the Arakan Army.
Simultaneously, the Arakan Army is also firing at Myanmar Navy ships and boats.
Currently, multiple warships of the Myanmar Navy are conducting operations on the Myanmar border.
The Myanmar Navy has also informed the Bangladesh Navy about its presence in Myanmar's territorial waters near Saint Martin's.
The internal conflict in Myanmar continues on Myanmar's mainland and adjacent coastal areas. It is also noted that multiple ships of the Bangladesh Navy and Coast Guard are regularly patrolling Bangladesh's territorial waters near Saint Martin's Island, observing the movements of Myanmar's ships.
