Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members detained an Indian Border Security Force (BSF) officer today for allegedly crossing into Bangladesh at the Chanderhat border in Thakurgaon's Pirganj upazila. The detainee, Upakumar Das, 32, is stationed at the Gouripur Camp under BSF Battalion-63, according to our Thakurgaon correspondent.

Lt Colonel Md Ahsanul Islam, commanding officer of BGB battalion 42 in Dinajpur, confirmed that Das was apprehended around 11:00 AM by border security personnel at Chanderhat camp. Following the incident, BGB officials promptly informed the BSF and scheduled a flag meeting at the zero line for the afternoon. The reasons for Das's intrusion remain unclear at this time.
