BGB detains 5 while entering BD from India via Sylhet border

BGB detains five people while entering Bangladesh through Sylhet border on Saturday,



Sylhet, Nov 30 - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained five people on Saturday while they were entering Bangladesh from India through the Sylhet border.

According to a press release issued by the 48th Battalion of Sylhet BGB on Saturday evening, they were detained near Sylhet border pillar 1279/MP by members of the BGB’s Sripur Camp.

Two of the detainees were found carrying both Bangladeshi and Indian ID cards. During interrogation, they confessed to having traveled to India a few days ago for work purposes.

The detainees have been identified as Md. Monir Hossain (26), Md. Sabuj Mia (28), Md. Hekim Ali (47), Md. Ujjal Hossain (18), Md. Salek Nur (39),

The press release mentioned that the detainees are being handed over to the police for further legal action. - UNB
