In a gesture of goodwill and camaraderie, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) exchanged sweets with the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday morning to commemorate Bangladesh's Victory Day.

The exchange occurred around 10 am at the zero line near Check Post Gate, adjacent to Sub-Pillar 11 of Main Pillar 285, along the Hili border.

Representing the Joypurhat-20 BGB Battalion, Hili CP Company Commander Subedar Shahadat Hossain presented four packets of sweets to Inspector SN Choubey of the BSF's 79th Battalion stationed at Hili Camp. The BGB extended Victory Day greetings through this symbolic exchange.

In return, the BSF also gifted sweets to the BGB, conveying their greetings and well-wishes. Both sides engaged in a cordial exchange of pleasantries during the brief ceremony.

“On the occasion of our great Victory Day, Joypurhat-20 BGB Battalion extended greetings to the Indian BSF with a gift of sweets. In return, they also gave us sweets and conveyed their best wishes,” Subedar Shahadat Hossain remarked.

He emphasized that such exchanges play a crucial role in fostering friendly relations and enhancing mutual understanding between the two border forces, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and respect, reports UNB.
