A Bangladeshi has been detained by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) from the border area in the Sadar upazila of Panchagarh.

The detained Wasim is the son of Rezaul Karim, a resident of Senpara area in Amorkhana union, Sadar upazila.

BSF personnel from the 46th Battalion, stationed at the Goralbari Camp, apprehended Wasim on Wednesday afternoon near the main pillar 746 area of Senpara border.

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has called for a flag meeting at the company commander level to discuss the return of the detained youth, reports UNB.

Shafiqul Islam, commander of Tokapara Camp of the 56th BGB Battalion in Nilphamari, mentioned that 4-5 teenagers were attempting to cross into India through the Senpara border when one of them, Wasim, was captured by BSF personnel.

Efforts are underway to bring Wasim back to Bangladesh through discussions at the company commander level, he added.
