India has expressed confidence that all mutually agreed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements between Bangladesh and India will be upheld as the two countries prepare for crucial border talks later this month. The discussions, set to take place between the Border Security Force (BSF) of India and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), are scheduled for February 17-20 in New Delhi.

India's Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, emphasized the importance of honoring these agreements. “We expect all mutually agreed MoUs and agreements to be fully honored,” Jaiswal stated, underscoring the significance of these accords in fostering stable relations and cooperation between the two nations’ border forces.

The upcoming DG-level talks are aimed at addressing a range of border-related issues, including security measures and cross-border trade. Jaiswal added, “These agreements provide a framework for enhancing security and trade infrastructure along the shared border, facilitating a mutually beneficial partnership between the two forces.”

Recently, tensions between the neighboring countries over border concerns prompted Bangladesh to call on India to prevent provocative actions that might escalate the situation. Despite these challenges, India remains hopeful that a collaborative approach between the BSF and BGB will help address border security issues and combat crimes in the region.

The talks are expected to pave the way for renewed cooperation and understanding, as both countries work together to strengthen their border management strategies and enhance bilateral ties.
