BGB Seizes Tk 32 Lakh Smuggled Goods at Benapole Border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have seized Indian smuggled goods worth Tk 32 lakh in a drive at Benapole check-post border.


But no smuggler was detained during the operation.

A BGB patrol team conducted the drive Sunday evening and seized goods sarees, blankets, various types of chocolates, food items, and cosmetics.

Lt Col Saifullah Siddique, commanding officer of BGB Battalion-49 in Jashore, being tipped off that a syndicate would smuggle a large quantity of drugs and contraband goods from India through the Benapole check-post they conducted the drive, reports UNB.

The seized goods were handed over to Benapole Customs House.

A case was also filed.
