The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed 20 more people into Bangladesh through the Chapainawabganj border early Wednesday.

This brings the total number of people pushed into the district by the BSF to 45 over the past 22 days, beginning on May 27.

According to Lt Col Fahad Mahmud, Commandant of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion-53, a BGB patrol team detained the group while they were wandering in the Masudpur area around 4:45am after being pushed in by the BSF.

The group includes three men, seven women, and 10 children. "They will be handed over to police after verification of their identities," said the BGB official.

Lt Col Mahmud said the BGB has officially condemned the BSF's actions.

On May 27 and June 3, the BSF pushed 17 and eight people, respectively, into the district, reports UNB.
