Seized arms include two pistols, two magazines, 100 rounds of bullets and three arms, said a Public Relations Officer Md Shariful Islam of BGB Headquarters on Sunday.
Other smuggled items include 20,87,143 pieces of Yaba pills, 4.663 kgs of heroin, 4,491 bottles of phensidyl, 12,113 bottles of foreign liquor, 384 litres of local liquor, 1,108 cans of beer, 1,298 kgs of cannabis, 2,24,811packets of bidi/cigarette, 10 kgs of tobacco leaves, 57,745 injections, 4,384 Eskuf syrups, 12,249 Anegra and Senegra tablets and 7,54,258 other tablets.
Meanwhile, legal action has been taken against 198 smugglers, 1197 Bangladeshi nationals, nine Indians for illegally crossing the border during the period, said Public Relations Officer of the BGB headquarters Md Shariful Islam.
Besides, 805 Myanmar nationals have been returned to their country while attempting to enter Bangladesh, reports UNB.
