Gold prices in Bangladesh have fallen again within just 24 hours, reflecting continued volatility in the local market. The Bangladesh Jewellers Association has reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new rate at Tk 242,495.
The revised prices came into effect from 10:00am on Wednesday, according to a notification issued by the association.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in response to a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market, prompting a reassessment of overall pricing.
Under the new rates, 21-carat gold now costs Tk 231,472 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is priced at Tk 198,405. Gold produced through the traditional method is set at Tk 161,605 per bhori.
This latest revision follows another price cut just a day earlier, on April 28, when the association had also reduced gold prices by Tk 2,216 per bhori. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold stood at Tk 244,711.
So far this year, gold prices in the country have been adjusted 58 times—rising on 32 occasions and falling 26 times—highlighting ongoing fluctuations in the bullion market. In 2025, prices were revised 93 times, with increases recorded in 64 instances and decreases in 29.
