Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has called upon Qatari investors to explore Bangladesh’s growing economic landscape, highlighting the country's vast investment opportunities and recent reforms aimed at creating a business-friendly environment.

Speaking at an event titled “Bilateral Investment Opportunities Between Qatar and Bangladesh” in Doha on Wednesday evening, the Chief Adviser stated, “Bangladesh is now back to business — and back in a big way. We want your partnership.”

He noted that the Interim Government has undertaken significant initiatives to improve the investment climate and is committed to building a corruption-free, progressive Bangladesh. Recounting the successful entry of a foreign telecom operator into the country, he illustrated how initial investments in Bangladesh have yielded high returns.

The event was opened by Azad Ashraf, president of Bangladesh Forum, Qatar.

Ashik Chowdhury, executive chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), presented detailed insights into the current investment landscape and reforms introduced to ease business operations. “If you're considering Bangladesh, now is probably the best time,” he told potential Qatari investors and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora.

Energy Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan highlighted economic progress under the Interim Government, stating that Bangladesh's outstanding foreign debt had been reduced from USD 3.2 billion to USD 600 million. He also noted that payments due to Qatar Energy had been fully cleared by Wednesday.

He further explained the government’s roadmap for enhancing energy security and infrastructure, ensuring mutual benefits for investors.

The event also featured remarks by Qatar’s Deputy Under Secretary for Industry and Business Development Saleh Majed Al Khalafi, and co-founder of Next Smart Solutions, Ali Ben Fardj.

Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nazrul Islam, were present at the event. The Ambassador delivered the closing remarks.
