Dhaka, Jan 19 -- An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League's (BCL) Dhaka University (DU) unit was arrested with arms from Masterda Surja Sen Hall on Tuesday night.

The arrestee has been identified as Al Amin Khan Razon, a supporter of Al Nahian Khan Joy, the president of BCL.

Al Amin is expecting a post in the next hall conference slated for January 30, reports our DU correspondent.

Confirming the matter, Moudud Hawladar, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh police station, said the BCL activist was arrested with help from the DU proctorial team for possession of a gun.

"Al-Amin stayed in room no 101 of Dhaka University's Masterda Surja Sen Hall but he didn't have studentship. Legal action will be taken against him," he said. - UNB
