State University of Bangladesh Celebrates Spring Festival



Dhaka, 13 February: Under the theme “Let our souls be enlivened with the hues of spring, celebrating the call of spring with songs and joy!”, the Cultural Club of State University of Bangladesh (SUB) organized the “Boshonto Utshob 1431” on 12 February 2025 at the university’s campus in South Purbachal, Dhaka.

The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor (Designate) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan. Also, in attendance were Registrar Dr. Ahmed Hussain and Senior Deputy Registrar Farhana Sharmin. The event was hosted by Kotha Nahian, Lecturer of the Department of Journalism, Communication, and Media Studies.

At the commencement of the event, the Vice-Chancellor shared his thoughts:

“Today’s festival underscores the creativity and unity of our students. The vibrant performances we witnessed reflect how our campus continues to flourish in cultural heritage and artistic excellence. The charm of spring is embodied in our students’ enthusiastic creativity, which fills us with immense pride.”

The Registrar also remarked, “This festival, which brought together students, faculty, and staff, is a testament to the dynamic cultural life of our university. Our students, through their talent and creativity, have transformed every moment of the event into a golden celebration.”

From early morning, students adorned in bright, colorful attire gathered at the venue, filling the surroundings with a festive atmosphere. The campus came alive with a series of performances including dance, music, poetry recitations, and an enchanting cultural presentation by indigenous students that captivated the audience. Nearly two thousand students, along with faculty members, deans, department heads, and officials, actively participated in the celebration.

The invited guests expressed their admiration for the university’s cultural initiatives and the creative spirit of the students, further highlighting the event’s success.

State University of Bangladesh continues to play a pioneering role in fostering creative development among its students through diverse cultural activities. - Press Release
