Students of Dhaka College and Dhaka City College clashed in the capital’s Science Laboratory area on Monday noon, disrupting traffic in and around the area.

Witnesses said students of City College took position under the Science Lab foot over bridge while students of Dhaka College gathered in front of the Government Teachers’ Training College around 11:40 am over some social media posts.

At one point, they chased each other and threw brick chips, triggering a clash, reports UNB.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Ramna Division) Masud Alam said police dispersed the students.

DMP New Market Zone assistant commissioner Tarikh Latif said the clash broke out over social media posts.

Additional police were deployed and situation is under control now, he said.
