IU signs MoU with UK's Markfield Institute

Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Markfield Institute of Higher Education, UK, to foster mutual cooperation in higher education and research.


The MoU was signed on July 21 at the Markfield Institute campus near Leicester, United Kingdom.

IU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah and Markfield Institute Rector Dr Zahid Parvez signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.

Present at the signing ceremony were Barrister Asaduzzaman, General Secretary of Islamic University Alumni Association, UK, Dr Farooq Murad, Director of Islamic Foundation Leicester, and former IU faculty Delowar Hossain, among others.

Under the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on joint research, student and faculty exchange programmes, and implementation of academic projects.

Following the signing, both Prof Dr Nakib and Dr Zahid delivered presentations highlighting their institutions and ongoing academic activities, reports BSS.
