The leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) on Tuesday held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan to inform about the different irregularities in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections.

The leaders of JCD met the VC at the university’s Senate Building to lodge their complaint about the irregularities in the election.

Witnesses said a heated argument was exchanged between Chhatra Dal representatives and the Vice-Chancellor during the meeting.

During the meeting, the leaders of JCD alleged widespread irregularities including vote rigging, accusing the university administration of their biased role for siding with the Jamaat-e-Islami-backed student group Islami Chhatra Shibir.

Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib, General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir and the president and general secretary of the DU unit, along with a large number of activists were present during the meeting, reports UNB.
