Kenji Kimura, Managing Director of Japan’s MUFG Bank Ltd., met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan at the VC’s office today to discuss expanding financial assistance for underprivileged students and strengthening academic collaboration.

During the meeting, both sides explored avenues for increasing support to financially challenged DU students and enhancing broader institutional cooperation. The Vice-Chancellor requested greater backing from MUFG Bank, particularly through expanding the number of scholarships available.

Currently, the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) awards scholarships to 24 Dhaka University students each year, with each recipient receiving 450 US dollars annually.
