The university's Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali and Director General (DG) of Bangla Academy Prof Dr Mohammad Azam signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations at the syndicate meeting room of the BRUR administrative building.

With the signing of this MoU, BRMC is set to merge with BRUR with the aim of better preserving and promoting the legacy of the work of Begum Rokeya Shakhawat Hossain, the pioneer of women's renaissance in the subcontinent.
Talking to BSS, the BRUR VC said that this merger will enable students, especially those from the departments of Bengali, History and Archaeology, to be directly associated with the memorial centre.
"This initiative will create new opportunities for research, study and preservation of Rokeya's life and work, especially for the younger generation. The BRMC library will also be enriched with books," he added.
