Seven times National Film Award winner, composer and music director Alam Khan is no more.

He breathed his last around 11.32am on Friday.

Alam Khan’s son Arman Khan said this at his Face book status.

He was born in Baniagati village of Sirajganj in 1944.

Alam khan began his career at the early age of 10 as a composer and singer under many popular singing legends. His first released composed song ‘O Madhobi Go Mor Ontorey’ sung by Roushan Ara Mustafij gained huge popularity before and after the liberation war.

He made his first debut as music director in 1970 by working in the film ‘Kach Kata Hire’ under the direction of Abdul Jabbar Khan.

His famous song ‘Ore Nil Doriya’ from the film ‘Sareng Bou’ directed by Abdullah Al Mamun made him a centre of attention in the music industry.

He bagged his first National Film Award by directing the song ‘Haire Manush Rongin Fanush Dom Furailey Thush’ from the film ‘Boro Valo Lok Chilo’ directed by Mohiuddin.

The song was written by Syed Shamsul Haque and sang by Andrew Kishore. He worked in several films including ‘Tin Konna’, ‘Dinkal’, ‘Ki Jadu Korila’, ‘Bagher Thaba’ and many more.
