FM Neer shares lead in Bangkok Chess

Dhaka, 17 April- Manon Reja Neer, FIDE Master of Bangladesh Navy and Narayanganj, beat grandmaster Makhnev Denis of Kazakhstan in the fifth round of 21st Bangkok Chess Club Open which is now being held in Hua Hin District, Thailand, said a press release. 

The fifth round matches were held Wednesday with Neer played with white pieces, chose the Ruy-Lopez opening system and won against GM Makhnev Denis after forty three moves. In this event Neer also defeated grandmaster R M Lalith Babu of India.

At the end of the fifth round of games, FM Neer shared lead in the points table with 4.5 points along with other seven players. after the end of the fifth round.
 
International Master Abu Sufian Shakil of Bangladesh Biman scored three and a half points, FIDE Master Md Taibur Rahman and FIDE Master Nayem Haque of Bangladesh Biman scored three points each while Tashriq Saihan Shan of Uttara Central Chess Club scored one and a half points.
 
In the fifth round matches, IM Abu Sufian Shakil defeated Binu Devdutt of India, FM Nayem Haque beat Poorna Sri of India, FM Md Taibur Rahman drew with Arshiya Das and Tashriq Saihan Shan split point with Krishtopov Konstantin of Russia.
