Int'l Rating Chess begins Saturday

Dhaka, March  -Independence Day WALTON International Rating Chess Tournament will begin on Saturday (March 15) at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room, said a press release.

Participation in this competition is open for all chess players. The tournament will be held in a nine-round Swiss-league format and the winners' will be awarded a total cash prize of Taka 150,000.00 and Walton merchandise.

In this regards a press conference was held at the federation's office room Thursday.

Bangladesh Chess Federation president and former secretary Syed Shujauddin Ahmed, F. M. Iqbal Bin Anwar (Dawn), senior executive director of WALTON Hi-Tech Industries PLC, Md Rabiul Islam Milton, additional executive director of marketing and communication of WALTON and Lokeman Hossain Mollah (Lovlu) joint secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation were present in the press conference.
