The ongoing mild heat wave may abate from six districts of the country.



The ongoing mild heat wave may abate from six districts of the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9am today.
“Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Chuadanga and it may abate from some places,” said the bulletin.
“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” it added.
However, the day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, it also said.
Country's maximum temperature was recorded 37.7 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi on Monday and minimum temperature today was 25.0 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 83 mm in Tetulia.
The sun sets at 6.48 pm today and rises at 5.22 am tomorrow in the capital.
