Shivering cold and dense fog has hit northern districts hard, disrupting the normal life of people.
The roads continue to be covered in fog all day, and people cannot see the sun for a moment. Vehicles have to move with headlights even in the daytime, and cold is forcing people to stay home.  The temperature starts to drop as evening falls.
The Met office predicts that a mild cold wave will sweep over the northern districts of the country for next one week.
Minimum temperature was recorded 11.2 degrees Celsius in Rangpur at 9.00am today (Tuesday). On Monday, it was 11.8 degrees Celsius.
People were seen warming themselves in the morning after setting fire on husks beside the roads.
The pressure of patients suffering from cold-related diseases has increased in the hospitals.
