Cold wave may abate in some places, says Met Office

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) Thursday predicted that the ongoing mild to moderate cold wave may abate in some places in the next 24 hours



Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) Thursday predicted that the ongoing mild to moderate cold wave may abate in some places in the next 24 hours commencing 9am Thursday.
"Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalgonj, Manikgonj, Jashore, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Barishal and Bhola and it may abate from some places," said a BMD bulletin.
Moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins and adjoining area and light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country from today midnight to tomorrow morning and it may continue till noon at some places, it added.
Weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.
However, night temperature may rise by (1-2) degrees Celsius and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 29.8 degrees Celsius at Teknaf, while the minimum temperature today was 6.3 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga.
The sun sets at 5.30pm today and rises at 6.44am Friday in the capital.
