Mild cold wave is sweeping over Rangpur division and the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Chuadanga, and Kushtia and it may continue, according to met office release issued on Saturday morning.



The Country's lowest temperature was recorded at 8.8°C in Dinajpur on Saturday morning, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

Mild cold wave is sweeping over Rangpur division and the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Chuadanga, and Kushtia and it may continue, according to met office release issued on Saturday morning.

People in the northern and north-western districts of the country have been experiencing severe cold coupled with dense fog over the past few days, which has thrown normal life out of gear.

The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country from midnight to morning and it may continue till noon at places. Air navigation, inland river transport, and road communication may be disrupted temporarily due to fog.

Night and day temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Cold day conditions are likely to prevail in places over the country.

The mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Kishoreganj, Pabna, Dinajpur, and Chuadanga and it may continue.

Temperature between 8°C to 10°C is considered a mild cold wave, 6°C to 8°C a moderate cold wave, and less than 6°C a severe cold wave.

Meanwhile, Sixteen children died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital from cold diarrhoea and pneumonia In the last six days.

Over 300 children are currently admitted to the hospital.

Dr Yunus Ali, director of the hospital confirmed the matter.

Due to the cold wave, various diseases like pneumonia, cold diarrhoea, cold fever, and breathing difficulties have spread widely in the northern districts.
