Baba,

Still stood like

That big Banyan tree,

Providing shadows to the family

Protecting children against all odds,

Of life and living!

From dawn to dusk

Baba works in the field,

In all seasons

From winter to spring

Cultivates crops to earn living

For members of his family and for him.

Baba pays for children’s education

Raring his hidden dream-

One day, they would be

Worthy citizens-

Make name and fame!

On this auspicious Father’s Day

Our hearty wish--Baba,

You live long and be happy!

NOTE: This poem is composed marking the Father’s Day which falls on June 18, 2023.

Fathers deserve our respect and recognition of their great sacrifice.
