Multiple missiles and drones launched from Iran targeted the airspace of the United Arab Emirates on Monday, triggering air defence responses and raising fresh regional tensions.

In a statement, the UAE’s defence ministry said its air defence systems were actively intercepting incoming ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones.

One of the attacks struck an oil facility in Fujairah, causing a fire. Authorities said the blaze began after a drone hit the site. Emergency response teams were quickly deployed, and firefighters worked to bring the situation under control.

No casualties have been reported so far.

While the UAE has heightened its security response following the incident, there has been no immediate comment from Iran.

The latest strike comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, adding to growing concerns over regional stability.
