A 72-hour blockade of roads and waterways is currently in effect across Khagrachari, Rangamati, and Bandarban, following violent clashes between indigenous and Bengali communities.

The "CHT Blockade" commenced at 6:00 AM on Saturday, severely disrupting long-distance transport services throughout the hill districts. The indigenous Jumma people initiated the blockade, demanding justice for those killed in the recent violence.

In response to the unrest, the Transport Owners' Association in Rangamati declared an indefinite strike starting Saturday morning, protesting the destruction of buses, trucks, and CNG-run auto-rickshaws during the clashes.

The strike has led to significant public disruption. Tragically, four indigenous individuals lost their lives during the clashes in Khagrachari and Rangamati on Thursday and Friday, with at least 72 others reported injured and multiple incidents of arson.
