At least 14 individuals, most of whom were part of a mob targeting the Awami League (AL), were injured in a violent confrontation in Gazipur's Dakshinkhan area on Friday night. The clash occurred when AL supporters launched a counterattack against a group attempting to vandalize the residence of former Liberation War Affairs Minister Mozammel Haque.

According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Arifur Rahman of Gazipur Sadar Police Station, law enforcement responded swiftly after receiving reports of the altercation around 10 pm. Upon arrival, police discovered the injured individuals, who were promptly transported to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for treatment.

“We are in the process of gathering more information to understand the full scope of the incident,” said OC Rahman.

The violent clash highlights rising tensions in the area as rival factions clash over political symbols and public figures.
