At least eight people, including a child, were killed and around 200 others wounded in overnight missile strikes launched by Iran on Israel. The attacks triggered widespread air raid sirens, sending millions of residents into shelters across the country.

In the central region, four people — including a 10-year-old boy — were killed in a direct rocket hit. About 100 others were injured in the same area.

Another 37 people were wounded in the Shfela region.

In the Tel Aviv district, a strike on the central coast resulted in several fatalities and dozens of injuries.

Late Saturday, a three-storey building was destroyed in the Western Galilee region. Two women were found dead at the site, and a third died in hospital.

In the Haifa region, a missile hit a home, killing a woman in her 20s and injuring 14 others.

In total, around 200 people were injured in the missile attacks.

Israel reported that it was actively intercepting incoming missiles while carrying out retaliatory strikes.
