Testimony in three separate corruption cases against ousted former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to begin tomorrow in Dhaka.

The cases also implicate 47 others, including her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and daughter Saima Wazed Putul. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has accused Hasina of abusing her authority during her tenure by unlawfully allocating 30 kathas of government land under the Purbachal New Town Project.

The hearings will take place at Dhaka’s Special Judge’s Court-5, presided over by Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun. The court has summoned ACC Deputy Director Salahuddin and Assistant Directors Afnan Jannat Keya and SM Rashedul Hasan to testify in their respective cases.

One case, filed by ACC Deputy Director Salahuddin on January 14, accuses eight individuals, including Hasina, of misusing power to allocate a 10-katha plot. The charge sheet, submitted on March 10, names 12 accused.

Another case, lodged by ACC Assistant Director SM Rashedul Hasan on the same day, names 15 accused, including Hasina and Joy, with the charge sheet listing 17.

The third case, filed by ACC Assistant Director Afnan Jannat Keya on January 12, accuses 16 people, including Hasina and Putul. The final charge sheet names 18 accused.

According to prosecutors, all preparations for the testimony proceedings have been completed.
