A court here today fixed November 17 for submitting the investigation report in a case filed against 15 individuals, including former lawmaker and Bangladesh national cricket team captain Shakib Al Hasan, over alleged share market manipulation, fraud and money laundering.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Shahjahan Kabir passed the order, as the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) failed to submit the probe report today.

The case was filed on June 17, 2025 by ACC Assistant Director Sajjad Hossain.

The other accused in the case are Deputy Registrar of the Department of Cooperatives Abul Khair, his wife Qazi Sadia Hasan, Abul Kalam Matbor, Kanika Afroz, Mohammad Bashar, Sajed Matbor, Aleya Begum, Qazi Fuad Hasan, Qazi Farid Hasan, Shirin Akter, Zaved A Matin, Jahed Kamal, Humayun Kabir and Tanvir Nizam.

According to the case statement, the accused allegedly artificially inflated the prices of specific shares in the stock market by conducting illegal serial transactions through their beneficiary owner (BO) accounts, engaging in fraudulent trading, gambling, and speculative activities, reports BSS.

Through these activities, a total of Tk 256.97 crore was allegedly misappropriated, which investigators described as "proceeds of crime."
