4 sentenced to death for killing child after rape

A court in Bogura on Sunday sentenced four people to death for killing a seven-year-old child after the rape at Dhunat upazila .

A court in Bogura on Sunday sentenced four people to death for killing a seven-year-old child after the rape at Dhunat upazila in the district in 2020.
Bogura Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-2 Judge Noor Mohammad Shahriar Kabir handed down the verdict his afternoon.
The convicts are Bappi Ahmed, 24, Kamal Pasha, 37, Shamim Reza, 24, and Lavlu Sheikh, 23. They are residents of Nashratpur village in the upazila.
The court also fined them Tk 1 lakh each, in default, they will have to suffer one year more in jail (simple).
Ashiqur Rahman Sujon, public prosecutor of the court, confirmed the matter.
According to the prosecution, the convicts raped and killed the child Mahi Umme Tabassum on December 14, 2020, tempting her to give her peanuts, and left the body in a bamboo grove.
A case was filed by the victim's father with Dhunat Police Station accusing four people.
