Chamber court stays suspended ACC Director Enamul Basir's bail

A Judicial court here on Tuesday scrapped a bail plea filed by the suspended director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)Khandaker Enamul Basir.



 A Judicial court here on Tuesday scrapped a bail plea filed by the suspended director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)Khandaker Enamul Basir.

A High Court division bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim denied the plea submitted by Basir's lawyers.

Earlier, on February 23 Enamul Basir and Mizanur Rahman, suspended Deputy Inspector General of Police was sentenced to eight and three years in jail respectively in a graft case.

The High Court on November 17 granted bail to Basir for six months in the case. ACC appealed against the bail order.

On August 23, the bail was scrapped by the Supreme Court. Basir, however made another bail plea which was stayed .

Earlier on July 16, 2019, Md Fanafillah filed the case against the two government officials with the ACC's Dhaka District Coordination Office-1 in Dhaka, for allegedly taking bribe.
