The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) today upheld a High Court (HC) judgment that declared the registration of former BNP minister Nazmul Huda led Trinamool BNP as a political party, valid.

A three-member Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique passed the order, dismissing a civil petition filed by the Election Commission against the High Court order.

Advocate Dr Md Yeasin Khan argued for the EC, while Advocate Shah Manjurul Haque stood for Nazmul Huda.

The High Court on November 4, 2018, declared the registration of Trinamool BNP as political party valid. The EC later filed the plea against the High Court judgment, reports BSS.
