Warrant against Badiul Majumder's brother-in law Ishtiaq

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrae Jaki Al Farabi accepted the chargesheet and issued the warrant.



A court in Dhaka on Wednesday accepted the chargesheet against nine people in a case filed over the attack on former US Ambassador Marcia Barnicat's motorcade.
An arrest warrant was issued against Mohammad Ishtiaq Mahmud, brother-in-law of Sushashoner Jonno Nagorik's (Sujan) secretary Badiul Alam Majumder, as he is absconding.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrae Jaki Al Farabi accepted the chargesheet and issued the warrant.
The remaining accused are currently on bail.
Detective Branch (DB) of Police on October 1 submitted a supplementary chargesheet against nine individuals, including BCL leader Naimul Hasan.
The nine accused were formally charged on March 1, 2022, and the trial commenced on March 28 of the previous year.
At night on August 4, 2018, the then US Ambassador Marcia Bernicat attended a dinner at Badiul Alam Majumder's Mohammadpur residence. The attack took place when she was getting into her car after the dinner.
