Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M. Ali Haider passed the order as the couple did not appear before the court today despite being summoned.

A court here Monday issued arrest warrant against Mohammad Rassel, the managing director (MD) of e-commerce platform "Evaly", and his wife and company Chairman Shamima Nasrin in a cheque dishonour case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate M. Ali Haider passed the order as the couple did not appear before the court today despite being summoned.

As "Evaly" failed to deliver a motorcycle within 45 days as promised even after full payment was paid on March 13, 2021, the buyer sent a notice to the company.

In response to that, a cheque was given to the buyer on September 13 the same year. The cheque, however, was dishonored and the company authorities were sent several notices.

On October 22 last, the buyer filed a case against the couple as they remained unresponsive to the legal notices.
