Husband gets death penalty for killing wife in Cumilla



Cumilla, May 23 - A Cumilla court sentenced a husband to death for killing wife in 2018 over family feud.

Judge Rozina Khan of Comilla's Additional District and Sessions Judge III Court pronounced the verdict on Thursday afternoon in absence of the convict.

According to case details, on November 3, 2018, the convict Mozammel Hossain Raju strangled his wife Khaleda Aktar to death with a piece of cloth.

Later, the body was dumped into a pond and the next morning police recovered the body.

The victim's father, Mobarak Hossain, subsequently filed a murder case against Raju at Chouddagram police station.

After police arrested Raju, he confessed to the crime.-UNB
